Professional Biography
Jason Mical has more than ten years of experience as a digital communications professional. He pioneered integrated Public Relations and social media campaigns before “social media” was part of the lexicon and has been instrumental in cross-discipline integration efforts both in the agency environment, and as part of an internal marketing team. His extensive experience in community management, along with his traditional PR and marketing background, give him a unique perspective on the online world and the evolving role of companies and marketing teams within it.
Prior to joining current agency Velocidi, Jason served as the Community Director at En Masse Entertainment, a Massively-Multiplayer Online (MMO) game publisher, where he and his community team grew the fan community for the MMO TERA from 10,000 to almost 270,000 members pre-launch. Prior to En Masse Jason worked at Edelman Digital in both Seattle and London on a variety of clients, including Microsoft, Johnnie Walker, Krispy Kreme, PUMA, Snickers, VISA Europe, Starbucks and more. Prior to Edelman, Jason served as the Public Relations Manager at game company WizKids, where he led the company’s community initiatives with 50,000+ engaged fans.
Jason graduated with honors from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, with majors in English literature and writing, and minors in global studies and religion. He is a gamer and outdoor enthusiast and when not camping, hiking, or walking the dog, he can be found in his garden or playing games.
